2020 has been quite a trying year for our world and it’s not even over yet. I struggle when I can’t see a clear path for my feet, let alone what other difficulties my nation, my city, and my family might face in the near future. It causes fear and anxiety to bang loudly on the door of my heart. There are so many questions I can’t answer and decisions that have to be made that make it seem like life or death hang in the balance… But there is a book in the Bible full of wise and truthful sayings that helps me cut through the chaos right to the core of what I need. The book of Proverbs is helpful in all seasons, but especially in seasons when it’s easy to forget how to live my life according to God’s ways. In the third chapter of Proverbs there is a verse that says,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Even when I don’t know which way to go, I still know whose hand will guide me. I serve a God who not only leads me on His paths, but who will protect me, shepherd me, defend me, and deliver me from evil.

This song is my declaration for when the noise gets so loud that it’s hard to hear His voice. He’s still got us.

You Are – Original Song by Rachel Hinduja

Lyrics

I don’t know which way to go
But I know whose hand to hold
And you won’t let go

A part of me still believes
That I need to see what’s coming
But you already know

You are my protector
You are my Good Shepherd
You are my King
You are my King

You are my defender
You are my deliverer
You are my everything
You are my everything

I know your voice but there’s a lot of noise
And I can’t decide which one is yours or mine
But you won’t let go

No matter what I face, whatever comes my way
I will stand in faith ’cause you will make a way
I know I’m not alone

You are my protector
You are my Good Shepherd
You are my King
You are my King

You are my defender
You are my deliverer
You are my everything
You are my everything

I don’t know which way to go
But I know whose hand to hold
And you won’t let go
